Double Realities

I have spent the past several days living in two worlds - the "real world" and Narnia. Though the land of Narnia is usually rather delightful it gets to be a bit tiresome when one must speed read through it over the course of a weekend and follow that up with a substantial essay of reasonable intelligence. I did rather a bodge job finishing that essay (which is due in about 5 hours), but I hope it will suffice.

Monday was my first day working at St. Andrew's. I didn't trust my abilities working in the creche, so I opted to come afterwards to help clean up. I played my own game of "let's tidy up the nursery" and yes, I did hum a few bars of "Just a Spoonful of Sugar" (which we all know helps the medicine go down)." It's rather fun being Mary Poppins. It's just too bad that these toys didn't feel like putting themselves away. Still, my mother would be proud.

Today I experienced a true terrential downpour. Though it often rains in Oxford, rarely is it so heavy. By the time I completed my 10 minute walk to church I was rather damp. My task of great importance this morning was operating the new electric door and assisting with the buggies that came through. Barbara brought to mind Pslam 84:10b "I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked." And such was my position, a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord.

Tomorrow is my first tutorial experience. I hope I stay awake!

Bodge is not used nearly enough in American English. We should change that.

I'm glad you're finally starting everything (that is, if you're glad) and I hope you don't get too bogged down with homework.

Today Sam and I were talking about the superiority of British English to American English and Spain Spanish to that of our hemisphere.
I thought of you and CS Lewis and now here you are blogging about both.
I would like to spend some time in Narnia.

Torrential, Friend Amanda. Torrential. Also, anyone who says British English is superior to American English, I will personally fight. Oh, it's Ross BTW, since I don't have a google account.
